Can someone please advise me if can claim.benefits ...I have took redundancy from.work due to health ...now diagnosed as severe brittle eosinophii asthma ...after being on ecmo...
Further episodes on it ventilated now on reslizumab but that not working....my savings are now down to.a minimum and need help financially ...

There are two general types of benefit you can look at; income-related & what are sometimes called circumstantial.
Means-tested simply requires that, in addition to any other qualifying criteria, your income is lower than the amount you are entitled to (roughly speaking). If you have savings from redundancy payments, that can affect what you get. This type of benefit will often trigger other entitlements, but a professional adviser would be best placed to work all that out based on your circumstances.
The other type doesn't have any income criteria attached, but the test of eligibility might be higher. So things like PIP, for example, have a high threshold (and different levels) but if you meet the criteria, it doesn't generally matter if you have any other income.
My advice to you really would be to get an appointment at the CAB or a Law Centre with a specialist in health-related benefits. They can advise you far more accurately, and can also take you through the claims process to maximise the chance of a successful claim.

You will need to be assessed but you’ll be entitled to PIPS with severe asthma, take advice when filling out form from social work as they know how to word it best and are really helpful.
Sorry as this is wrong. There is no certainty that someone with severe asthma or any illness will be entitled to benefit. This depends not on the illness but how it affects you.

Go online gov.uk and you can fill in forms online or even speak to an adviser free phone. You can get esa income related or contributions esa if you are under pension age and pip. Citizen's advice have website to help fill in forms. The sooner you put a claim in the better due to medicals etc and they back date it from the date you phone or send for forms. 😊
There is a excellent team of people called Fightback they are lead by Michelle Cardno who has a legal background. Davenpos, you will find them searching online and have a Facebook page and have a high success rate helping enable those who need benefits receive them including PIP which is non means tested. Sadly the success of obtaining PIP does depend on how the form is filled in and that’s why it’s recommended experts fill it in. There is a small charge if they fill these forms in but well worth it. They do have a free helpline too staffed by volunteers. And respond to Facebook messenger as well as emails. Good luck.

Hi just letting you know that have to go for an appointment regarding universal credit ......and waiting for the pip forms ...I know it has to be done as too ill to work but I feel so frustratex with whole situation..hey ho got to keep positive x
What happened to universal credit Davenpos? Did you apply? I wouldn’t say 48 is too young for ill health retirement depending on your situation. Have you received the PIP forms? Sorry I didn’t see your latest replies.
