Toxic Singulair

I started Singulair 8 days ago and on the third day I started headaches, slow heart rate, fatigue, imsomnia, depression and horrible, vivid nightmares when I could finally sleep. I felt like I was walking in mud. Also I have big bruises on my arms and haven't seen anything like them ever. I stuck with it until yesterday and called my Doctor. She said to stop immediately and to go to emergency room if I felt worse. I didn't take any last night and slept really well (10 hours) with no dreams. I researched it today and it's really toxic. I guess I'll just keep using my Ventolin (with spacer) every 4 hours. It amazing that there's nothing that can open up airways without killing you.

Hi andydandy 😊 I was diagnosed with asthma in 2015 and was given montelukast, aka singulair, by my asthma nurse a year or so later. Like you I had some horrific side - effects, particularly nightmares, which were so disturbing I stopped taking the medication. Glad to hear the nightmares have gone, but it's a concern you are needing your ventolin so often. I think an urgent review is required... Best wishes, Flossie
