Is anyone here on RESLIZUMAB??

Hi All! I have very difficult eucinophillic asthma & have had 16monthly MEPOLIZUMAB injections. Altho the blood results were quite startlingly good from the start, my terrible breathlessness has been unchanged. I’ve been able to very gently reduce my steroid dose the last couple of months, being very closely monitored, but suddenly the Eucinophils are jumping from just 10 to 340 in a fortnight & my Nitrous Oxide reading has shot up from 37 to 66. The Prof said they may need to change me to RESLIZUMAB. Is anyone here on this drug? How have you found it??

I would be interested to hear from anyone.

Many thanks!

Rose

I’m completely isolated. I’ve lost contact with friends & colleagues after having to finish work in 2011. My best friend who had terrible obliterative bronchiolitis died in Dec. I hear from no one now. I’m only 56 but Breathing is so bad it’s a nightmare to get out at all. I have 4 beloved cats.. My family!

( no, I’m not allergic to them) & my 91 yr old Mum lives with me, & she’s been looking after ME cos she’s in rude health & im so bad.. & she shouldn’t be doing that, but I struggle to cope with the absolute basics each day.. so hard.. Thanks for your concern. It means a lot!

Thanks Asthma girl. I’ve looked online.. there’s not much info as it’s such a new drug. I really wanted to hear from someone else actually taking it. It’s all very well what the Drs say, & the drug companies, but only another patient can say what it’s really like to take..

Thanks anyway!

Thank you VERY much! It sounds like I very much meet the criteria for Reslizumab as detailed here, and as the Prof in Southampton told me on Monday. I hadn’t found more than a few words about it but there’s loads of papers on it listed here, & also the other new drug Ben.. something, which is going thru NICE approval at the mo, which may also be an option, so THANK YOU for sending the link!!

That’s great..

Bestest wishes & thank you for your support!
