Beconase use

I'm new here. When using Beconase, what's the correct target area? Is it meant for the back of the throat/nose, or is it supposed to be inhaled into the lungs? I've been getting conflicting views/facts from fellow Hay Fever sufferers.

I have been a user of Beconase for some time prescribed by a hospital consultant to help with my Asthma, his direction to me was two sprays into each nostril. That's how I use it he told me to ensure that the tip of the spray should be placed at a slight angle into the nostril.

As Rosalada says, this is technically a NASAL spray, but can help asthma indirectly; I think that is largely because it has some systemic effect, rather than breathing directly into the lungs. When you compare asthma inhalers to Beconase, you can see that Beconase droplets are much bigger and unlikely to be inhaled into the lungs. Also, I don't think you're supposed to swallow Beconase, and that's what will happen if you inhale two deeply through the nose.

Superzob, Rosalada - I obviously didn't make myself clear in my original post, for which I apologise - I'm taking Beconase to relieve my Hay Fever symptoms. I don't have asthma, nor have I ever had it. I asked the question as I have had two different instructions for use of Beconase from 2 different doctor's. I don't know which is right.
