It’s official! I’m graduating with a 2.1 in osteopathy (integrated masters)! It’s taken me 7 years (3 years more than plan due to my asthma spiralling out of control) but I’ve finally done it! 👩🏻🎓😊
Incredibly happy, although I’m 80% sure that I’m have/am getting a chest infection. Been having good old blue every 2-4 hours for the last few day and blamed it on stress/aniexty/weather. Last night I sounded like Nelly the elephant, I blew my nose so often and now my chest is tight and feels like my lungs are wrapped in cling film. I’m struggling to keep at 55% PF 😒 but I feel ok if I don’t move - however it drops to under 50% on activity and I wheeze and huff like no tomorrow 😅😬! I’ve had no appetite today and I’ve just starting to cough tiny amounts of gunk up too 😷. Guess that instead of celebrating I’ll be at my GP tomorrow 🙄😩.
Does anyone on Xolair know what I should do? I have my next injection on Friday; if I’m on antibiotics do I need to cancel? What if it viral and none are given?
I’m hoping that this is just stress relief and that I’ll be fine in a couple of days, but I don’t know the illness/injection protocol if it’s still around... 😕
Thanks a lot!

If you’re actively unwell or infected they won’t give Xolair but go along and let them assess you. They will just delay a few days to a week and then give it though.
Ok thanks a lot! My doc wouldn’t commit to a diagnosis today - infection, virus or hayfever but given me antibiotics just in case esp as off food and was struggling to hit 50% PF with nebs last night - now up to 60% so yay 😅
I was in Xolair every two weeks for five years, just stopped a few months ago. In that time they only with held it once, you have to be proper poorly. Asthma being off on one doesn’t come into the equation it’s active infection so fingers crossed you’ll get it.
Thanks that’s what I’m hoping, tho the one thing my doc could say was that my chest wasn’t wheezy so probs not asthma. It feels different to my asthma too... last time I felt like this I spent 2 months ill with a chest infection then unresolved asthma, and the time before I almost ended up in ITU but I’m hoping that I’m just being paranoid about it cause of the last 2 experiences 😅🤞.
Thanks for your advice and experience! Only been on Xolair since Jan and whilst I have been asthma-ry on injection day I haven’t yet been properly ill... again hoping it’s a short term thing and that I’ll be fine on Friday! 🤞🤞🤞😅
