Confused 70 yearold

Had a bacterial chest infection end jan ab eventually cleared it 2 weeks later developed a chronic productive cough 12 weeks later had chest X-ray all clear then Spirometry test FEV1 was 69% but the nurse and GP said Togo back for another test in 6 months no diagnosis or meds anyone any ideas on this would be appreciated. Chris

Hi if your FEV1 (lung function) is 69% then you might have COPD. In your place I would go back to your doctors and ask them what this means and if you are diagnosed with anything. Also if you are having problems breathing you need to tell them and hopefully will get an inhaler to help.

Hi thanks for your reply I have no breathing problems but still cough but not much maybe just a few times during the day I phoned the doc to ask what it means and the receptionist said spoke to GP he want you leave it for 6 months and take the test again end of. Chris
