Reducing pred meds

Hi all, new to forum.. I have well controlled asthma since childhood. I have a viral chest infection at present been on pred for 9 days.. slowly coming off the pred now but the chest mucus seems to be coming back worse today and not better? Is That normal when reducing pred? Just want to stop coughing!

No, not usual for me, as long as I don't reduce pred till infection/lungs cleared. Sometimes takes a day or two longer than GP predicts though. Don't reduce, I would say, till lungs clear. Perhaps need to check with GP.

Check with GP. I have been on pred for 6 months now, and have only just started reducing. I was given the standard prescription to start 6 for x days then reduce when my problems started - it did not work. You just need to talk to GP.
