I am still suffering the side effects of duoresp spiromax. I used it for one year not realising that my asthma was getting worse because of the inhaler.
I was on Symbicort and one fine day my GP said I was prescibed Duoresp spiromax as a cost cutting measure.
My asthma got worse I started wheezing soon after I took the inhaler. I had bruising all over the body .my chest got unbearably tight. It was as if I almost got a heart attack.
I approached more than one GP and they all dismissed it.
In April this year I got painful cramps in the feet and bleeding in the urine.
They are still treating me. But all scans show that everything is normal with my liver and kidney.
But I still am experiencing terrible nausea and pain in the lower abdomen /groin.
The GP'S are confused and don't know what to prescribe.
The side effects of Duoresp spiromax in their leaflet are : 1.Tightening of the muscles in the airways which causes wheezing and shortness of breath immediately after using an inhaler.
2.Nausea
3.Bruising of the skin
4. Muscle cramps
5.chest pain or tightness of the chest
I have experienced all the above. But all the GP'S are still dismissing it. And yet after all the scans that have shown everything is normal. But my symptoms continue.
I dont really know what to do.
I never really read the side effects leaflet till April this year. I have been on Duoresp for 1year 3 months.
One dosen"t expect an inhaler that is prescribed to make your asthma better to actually make it worse.
So bad that I had to be rushed to hospital with severe chest pains. I thought I was getting a heart attack.
And yet it never occured to me to read the leaflet of possible side effects.
I got my GP to change it only in April this year.
But some of the side effects still continue even after two months of stopping the inhaler.
Please everyone read the side effects of your inhaler.
