Fostair inhaler

Last year my inhaler was changed from Seretide to Fostair. I have found Fostair to be helpful to me but I find that I cannot always finish the inhaler. This time there are 21 puff left in there. Last time I took the whole inhaler but the time before it stopped at 27. It would seem to me to be every other inhaler that just stops. Has anyone using Fostair had this issue or is it just me? I have to make an appointment with the asthma nurse for my review and I am going to mention it then.

These inhalers are not meant to be absolutely emptied. By the time you get below 20 you should have a new one. I have no idea why this is, but I read somewhere that is what I need to do with mine.

Oh I see. I've always emptied them. But I'm not even getting below 20 before its giving up on me. I do thank you for getting back to me. Appreciated.

Never had that happen to me ie. runs out before it should. Could be a faulty one I would ask a pharmacist. I use Fostair Nexthaler.

Thank you for getting back to me. I have an appointment with the asthma nurse tomorrow so I shall speak to her about it.

If I'm not sure if the inhaler is working I puff it into the air to see. You can usually tell if it is puffing out the drug or not. I was advised to wash the nozzle if it seems not to be working as it can get clogged.

I take fostair (since last August) and haven't had a problem. Did wonder a couple of times and did the above and then used it up ok.

Thank you Strongmouse for your reply. I will do that and try the inhaler again. Never thought of that because it is new. :)
