Revlar Ellipta

Hi guys on my 4th day of this inhaler. Seems to be doing the trick although yesterday i felt a bit out of breath so I took the ventolin inhaler i was prescribed with the ellipta. What a disaster - made my breathing so much worse. My gp is on holiday so I went to the pharmacist and she told me I coukd still use my Atrovent inhaler or my combivent nebuliser. I am hoping that I wont have to use any additional inhalers with the Ellipta once my lungs get used to it. So far i dont seem to have any side effects listed apart from a slight runny nose.

Has anyone else encountered this problem with ventolin. It was as if when i was puffing very little came out of the unhaler itself.

Hi - could the inhaler have been faulty or empty? I’ve been caught out by that before and now always have a spare tested but full one to hand just in case. If I am not sure about my asthma or my medication I phone my asthma nurse or the pharmacy or asthma uk helpline.

With relvar ellipta I do still need the use salbutamol and for now with all the pollen I am using my nebuliser most days.

Hope you have a better day today xxx

Hi Emily, i might need a spacer for the salbutamol but i spoke to my pharmacist and she said i can take my Atrovent also my combivent nebuliser but i had a good day since yesterday 17 hours so far without taking a reliever so happy out. I stupidly listened to someone who is taking the Revlar not to take it in the morning if i drink coffee as it makes your heart beat faster so i take it in the afternoon and it works for me. So far so good!

My wife was put on Relvar Ellipta along with 10mg of prednisolone, this worked well for about 3 months, & she didn't need to take any Ventolin. Then she saw the consultant in February they dropped the prednisolone to 5mg & she is back to where she was before & has had to use the Ventolin but she says it doesn't feel like its doing anything. Her next appointment is in July, I just wish her appointments with the consultant wasn't so far apart. .

Hi Jack Wabbit. I have only been taking the Revlar for 5 days. Each day i have to use by reliever but today i only used it once and the gaps are lasting longer. I got Salbutamol with the Revlar and the only other ventolin i had was over 30 years ago and i also had the tablets which made me shake. I took two puffs of ventolin day before yesterday and i was so breathless so obviously doesnt agree with me so I take Atrovent which i have been on with my previous meds and i fund i am grand. Asthma is a real pain in the butt - but i have to say this is the first inhaler that i can do 19 hours without a puff of another. Hope your wife gets sorted. I dont think people unless they suffer from asthma realise what a horrid illness it is and if you suffer from anxiety and panic attacks like me it makes it 100 times worse.
