I’m Katy,

I’m just starting the crunch to 5k thing but my only worry is my asthma. I’ve never been able to run without getting wheezy. Never ever! I can’t even jog slowly without it starting. I can walk fast, walk uphills etc but as soon as I start running... BOOM...I get short of breath!!

I am gonna just try it and see how I get on but any experience of other people doing it would be great.

I definitely need to do something,

Had a car accident about 10 years ago & have a bad neck/shoulder that just won’t settle down 🙁

I’ve always been very slender but after I was given an antidepressant I very quickly put 3 stone on Ekkkk.

So now 90% of all my clothes don’t fit me & I love my clothes 😕😫

I changed my medication but for some reason (maybe it’s because I’ve turned 40) I am finding it extremely difficult to lose the weight! Very depressing in itself hey!

After years of ‘trying’ I finally started a real huge push about a month ago.

I’ve lost a stone already. So pleased with myself and now feel like I’m ready to start getting a bit fitter. I did my ‘day 1’ exercise/run yesterday. It was okay. Took 4pfs before setting out and just did very very gentle jogging interwoven with fast walking.

All ready to go again for tomorrow.

Wish me luck hey!

Katy

Well done on your weight loss so far :-)

I have the same issue when running 😭 and don't know what the answer is. My doctor and nurse can't suggest anything since adding montelukast didnt help.

Dear Ikaty-pie

Well done for your weight lost and getting fit again. Thank you for being an inspiration. I put on too much weight later due to being on prednisolone for just over 3 weeks. I need to lose less than you but its still getting me down. I can't get into any of my summer clothes so I know how you feel.

So I started this week with going back to swimming, aqua fit and pilates. I can't run unfortunately as my other long term health condition makes it impossible.

My goal is to lose it slowly and steady.

Exercise is great for making you feel better. I just swam 24 lengths and done my pilates class.

Thank you once again for inspiring me.

Hiya, nice to meet you 👍.

Don’t try to do everything all at once, you don’t want to set yourself up to fail hey!

Swimming is a great plan if you can do it. Nice one.

I’ve found that cutting back 80% of all carbs & sugar has been great.

There is never gonna be a good time so just start today, or tomorrow or just pick any day soon and then stick with it.

I know I was always thinking after this weekend or after my sisters birthday etc... etc ya know what I mean? There is always something happening and we can always find an excuse or reason to not start just yet but I found that I just had to be really strict with myself and say ‘right, from today I’m eating ONLY healthy food and cutting out carbs & sugar ‘. It’s hard at first but as soon as you start losing weightiest dead good.

Good luck to you.

Stay in touch, let me know how you get on hey?

Thanks Katy I promise not to over do it. When I am well I usually do pilates twice a week, aqua fit and swim. So I am only going back to what I normally do.

I have been much heavy than this so I know its possible to lose weight.

I havent got scales anymore but I will know when I lose weight by how my close fit. Slowly does it.
