Have been asthmatic plus chest infections for many years. Started to need nebulising - as well as usual antibiotics, steroids. Had MRI on lungs - shows scarring. What can I do to contain it and strengthen lungs.

The nurses at Asthma UK may have some suggestions. I used to play wind and brass instruments which helped with my lung capacity. I also sang in choirs. Singing is supposed to be good to build up your lungs. Some hospitals run choirs for COPD patients. I think ours does. Good luck and hope you find something.

I read an article in the Daily Mail health section where they've developed a procedure for destroying the nerves connected to the damaged parts of the lung and one test subject reported her breathing improved almost immediately. I don't know if this is relevant to your condition.
