I empathize with you as I also have copd & asthma having also had some terrible flu virus a couple of years ago that took me a very long time to recover from as I also had double pneumonia & very nearly croaked it. It's difficult not to lose our patience, but I decided that I would research the very best kind of diet & nutrition for myself that I could. You are doing marvelously, you've come through heart surgery, give yourself a pat on the back. Everything takes time & it's hard to stay positive in the winter but it can be done. Steroids deplete vitamin D3 which we need to visit our immune system unfortunately we are not informed of many things that could help us. I take vitamins D3 & K2 (which is needed to metabolise D3) tincture 1st thing every morning washed down with a glass of water. I follow this by alkalising my body with half a squeezed lemon an inch of crushed fresh ginger root & 1 tblsp of cloudy apple cider vinegar( with the mother) mixed into 1 pint -1 litre of cooled boiled water & 2 tsp local honey 🍯. This I enjoy every morning. I make it a ritual to my health & it benefits me in many ways & helps set me up for the day. It provides vitamin C which is essential to our health & alkalies the body helping it stay free of disease. I also eat oxygenating food each mealtime :- dark leafy veg, watercress & spinach etc & plenty of fruit. I exclude mucus forming food wherever possible. You could make it your very own healing adventure by researching & buying yourself a lovely notebook to collect all the healing information & try to enjoy the whole process of preparing & eventually consuming all that you can that's good for you . Good luck & best wishes. Lily

Hi ameljoelmarcus, sorry to hear you are feeling so unwell. After having a virus Christmas 2016, which made my asthma much worse, I learnt that it takes time to get better. I know that sounds obvious, but I mean weeks and possibly months of time, to really feel 100% better again. Your body will recover but you need to take it easy. It is frustrating and scary but I found this forum really helpful and supportive. Also ring Asthma UK -the nurses are lovely, especially helpful when you feel your gp etc aren't listening/getting to the bottom of things. Best wishes. Jo
