First off I'm a 34 year old male I live in Canada I've been having problems breathing for close to 2 years now I had a ct scan that showed scarring on my lungs at which point I was reffered to a heart and lung specialist he did a broncoscopy, about 5 stress tests, breathing tests, tested my blood for everything under the sun and cannot come up with anything as a matter of fact he shook my hand and said im healthy and there's nothing wrong so my question is why am I so short of breath why do I hear a weeze when I inhale and why could I work 10 to 14 hours a day 6 days a week prior to this and now I'm struggling with 8 I feel hopeless like I'm permanently stuck with this suffocating feeling???

Sorry to hear about your problem. But don't worry, there has to be a reason for whatever you are facing. I suggest you get your heart checked up. The problem may not be related to your lungs at all. Heart conditions like blocked arteries can have similar symptoms. Also check up for acid reflux, since that can also cause breathing problems. Acid reflux may not be very apparent, it may be a hidden problem which needs to be diagnosed.

Hope you find your solution and get well soon.

I wonder if you have allergy related asthma, sounds quite possible. Perhaps even excersise related Asthma. I’d ask the Doc if this could be the cause of it x

I’m sure forum members will offer many excellent suggestions as to the possible cause of your problem, which will entail considerable research on your behalf checking out the most relevant. It may be due to allergies, not just airborne but also in food, it could even be psychosomatic. There is a rare lung condition called amyloidosis which can cause the symptoms you describe. But In the end you will find many conditions that could fit the bill and still be none the wiser.

To be honest, nobody knows your body like you do, regardless of what a doctor may say, if you feel unwell then keep pressing until you get matters resolved.

At the end of the day just bear in mind doctors are not infallible, if you are dissatisfied then get a second opinion, don’t be fobbed off.

I have fluid around my left lung and scaring. My Pulmonary doctor sent me to a cardio thoracic surgeon. They say that I have to get rid of the fluid and the surgeon says that they are going to scrape the scaring. The scaring is casing the shortness of breath. Scaring constricts the lung and keeps it from expanding completely. I have surgery on 11/28. I praying it all goes well.
