Multiple hospital admissions in a short period of time

Hi

I'm really struggling with my asthma at the moment. I initially ended up in hospital in September, including a stay in icu. I was in for 10 days, and then managed 4 days at home before landing back in icu with diagnosis of pneumonia. I was in for a week, home for two weeks, and back in hospital for the nights. Finally, I was home for another week before my current hospital stay.

Does anyone else experience such rapid and multiple hospital admissions? For admissions in 6 weeks are truly trying my patience and resilience.

Hi, sorry you're having a tough time at the moment. I have Brittle Asthma & too have spent most of the past 2 months in hospital & ITU too. I can only describe my Asthma as a roller coaster with daily ups n downs and very tiring.

I hope you start to feel better soon, kind regards

Thank you for your reply. I hope this finds you well. It's good to know I'm not the only one in this position.

I'm back in hospital again, 5th admission, and the a&e medics started using language like severe asthma, brittle asthma etc. I was on antibiotics given by my cons, they've stopped those, taken me off phyllocontin and montelucast when I've been on them for several years. I'm not sure what is going on.

When no trigger can be found, the Dr's are starting to question psychological triggers, which just don't make sense. I had a ct scan yesterday and am awaiting results today from my consultant.
