Constant coughing and vomiting

Had asthma now for30 years always under control unless suffering from colds. For the last 10 months been plagued by constant coughing day and night. Tried different inhaler and lanzaparol all to no avail. Now I find that after a coughing fit I bring up a clear slimy substance bit like egg white and this happens on a daily basis, then I’m ok for couple of hours. Tried a nasal spray which helped at first but not any more. Only time it cleared up completely was when I went to Australia for a month. My symptoms came back as soon as I returned and been coughing ever since. Waiting to see ENT specialist at local hospital in December. Any advice be greatly appreciated.

Tried lanzaparol but that made no difference
