If you feel OK, why worry about your peak flow? It is certainly a useful indication as to how your treatment is helping but NOT that important if you are OK
I think it is due to fear of being told I am not self managing properly and social services being told to monitor for me.
I have a care agency come once a day because I have a physical disability as well yet i am fearlessly independent and want to remain that way.
I do not want to get my asthma monitoring wrong.
Hi Hidden
It’s good to hear that you do not have symptoms and your asthma is well controlled. Peak flow readings can be useful as a general guide but if you have no symptoms and feel well you would not need to use your reliever or make any other changes to your treatment. Here's some information: bit.ly/2tBuFdJ
Your GP surgery should offer you an asthma review every year and if you have not had one in the last year please make an appointment with the asthma nurse at your surgery. If your asthma management plan needs to be updated it can be done at this review. bit.ly/2tlV115
Please do call the Asthma UK helpline on 0300 222 5800 for further advice from an specialist asthma nurse.
