Safe to leave inhaler in hot car? πŸ˜•

Sorry if this seems like a silly question, but is it safe to leave an inhaler in the car given the heatwave we're enjoying 😎 / enduring πŸ˜₯ at present? I would like to keep an inhaler in it all the time in case I forget to take it with me, but my over-active imagination envisions the car exploding!

Hi flossiew,

My first thought is NO!! I would think there would be a risk of it exploding. Not good. You can call your pharmacist and she/he will know. If you need further information contact the manufacturer.

I always keep my inhalors in my purse. That way it is always with me. I hope this helps.

Thanks Katie 😊 The problem is that I don't always take my handbag with me when going out- that's one of the places I usually keep my inhalers - and I thought keeping one in the car would be a way of ensuring there's one at hand if and when needed. Ho hum, back to the drawing board I guess!! Hope you're keeping well x

"If it's really hot:

Carry your blue reliever inhaler with you at all times and keep taking your regular preventer inhaler as prescribed by your doctor.

Don't leave your inhalers in direct sunlight or anywhere they might get too hot, such as the glove compartment of your car or a conservatory. This will stop them working as well."

As PMRpete states keep it below 25 but never put in a fire it will go with one hell of a bang! One of my inhalers (Fostair) I need to keep in the fridge until I use it.

One tip for you if you have a plain dog mess bag holder they will hold inhalers a treat and most come with a clip?

Fostair in the fridge. Is this a recommendation I wasn't aware of ?

Yes it is a bit of a strange one the chemist will keep them in a fridge and it should be kept in a fridge untill used. Then they do not seem to mind it being out of the fridge which does seem a liitle strange to me. But since I went on it I have seen a differance in a good way.

Hi I presume you always take your purse and keys when you go out? Try keeping the inhaler on top or right next to one of them so you don't forget.
