Welcome to the site. I agree with Starveycat about never going anywhere without my blue inhaler. The other thing is that I am terrified of running out so I am on top of my repeat prescriptions every month. I've had asthma all my life so I have had plenty of learning opportunities! :-P Anyway, try not to think too much about it being a "limiting" condition. Work instead with your asthma nurse or GP to manage your symptoms and you should be able to carry on mostly as normal. The worst thing I find in being an asthmatic is that I tend to get ill easier so am always trying to find ways to boost my immune system. Having kids does not help! Oh well, it could be worse. Good luck and hope you are okay!

Welcome and good luck. I agree don't see it as limiting. Learn all you can and ask questions. It will help you manage your symptoms. We're an honest lot on here and will tell it how it's is 😊

Welcome. Being asthmatic isn't limiting it's just part of you not your whole you. I am a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, sister in law, aunt and a brownie leader. All part of who I am.

Oh they have cancelled their account and gone. They mustn't like us!

The good thing about Asthma is it can be controlled. Don't ever be limited by it. Don't let it take charge of you. Be proactive, get a peak flow meter, learn your triggers, take your medication even when you are well.

I have pretty serious brittle asthma, I ran a half marathon in December of which I am extremely proud. Half the time my doctors don't believe what I can do when I am well and in control. I am also an old bag, so keep going and don't let the B'stards get you down.
