10 year old son severe brittle asthmatic
See an Alexander Teacher. It is not a cure, but it will help him reduce some of the faulty muscle behaviour of his breathing. This in turn will help with his breathing.
It is worth seeing a McTimony Chiropractor. This is again not something which will cure the asthma. One of the problems that your son is likely to have is very tight ribs and raised shoulders. A McTimony chiropractor should be able to release the tightness of these muscles if the tightness is present. His muscles in the back are also likely to be tight with a responding reflex tightness in the front. The chiropractor should be able to reduce this tightness if present. This again hopefully should make his breathing easier.
It is an unfortunate fact of life that specialists study the medicines to use and how to use them and neglect studying how muscles work.
One of the things that has a habit of happening in an asthma attack is the victim of the attack tries to breathe in. It is more sensible to try and breathe out. Once you breathe out the pressure of the atmosphere will force air back in. This needs to be explored to check that this is a variable exercise for your son.
Do you know any friendly yoga teachers. Worthwhile enrolling him in a class with the purpose of getting better and more efficient muscle control. It will also help him sleep better. A more relaxed son will also help you be more relaxed concerning his health disability.
Hope this helps.
He has had this done and his muscle control is all as should be, he doesn't always gets short of breath or increased work of breathing his sats and peakflow can be as low as 90 peakflow and sats 91 and he wasn't struggling to breathe he does t have any symptoms
