This is very common with bad sinus problems. If it continues you need to ask you G/p for a referral to an ENT clinic. You could ask to try a steroid nasal inhaler for a while. Also it is worth trying Nasal Rinsing with Neil Med for a few weeks. You can buy the kit in boots. Its a little be weird to get the hang of, but it does work if you persevere.

Hi I take Qvar too and just wanted to say that I hope you rinse your mouth out after taking it as it can cause a few problems if you don't - at least have a couple of mouthfuls of water or something to clear the medication from your mouth. Asking your GP for a referral to an ENT specialist would be be a good idea too do they can resolve any other potential issues such as nasal polyps or a sinus problem. Hope you get it resolved soon.

Sense of taste and sense of smell are closely related. You may find that although taste is the one you've noticed has diminished, if you deliberately check your sense of smell (e.g. How well you can smell coffee in the jar), you discover that your sense of smell has weakened too. If so, ask for a cortisol blood test, especially if you've been taking lots of steroids for quite a while. People who take steroids are at greater risk of Cushings and loss of sense of smell is a symptom of Cushings.
