I've had a few weeks of being coldy, peak flow down to about 70%, nothing terrible. Problem is I feel pretty Rubbish in myself (exhausted and weak) and for the last week it have stabbing pain when I take a deep breath and my lungs literally feel like they're on fire. I'm in a fair bit of pain in my whole chest region right now and don't know what to do. Any help or advise would be great. Thanks x

😊

See your doctor asap. Don't take any chances with your lungs. x

I would also say straight to the doctor ASAP

They may give you some steroids or recommend you increase your inhaler but I would get to the doctor and let them go from there.

I feel that there is really nothing to be bothered about except for the peak flow. You might need to have blood tests, a chest x-ray and an ECG done. Sometimes, it might be infections such as: an upper respiratory tract infection or lower respiratory tract infection. I do strongly recommend that you see a doctor ASAP.

Hi,

Yes, Check in to see your doctor today. It may be pneumonia or it may be nothing much but it is always best to find out quickly and get a treatment plan started. Let us know how you go.

Hi, could it be costo.......can't remember the word, a condition affecting the chest wall.

It really gives some scary jabs. My GP confirmed his diagnosis when I felt a surface bruising pain on pressing my upper chest, just left of my cleavage for lack of the correct anatomical

term. He described it as 'exquisite pain'. Goes on its own but takes a few weeks, sooner if you don't lift or bend too much.

Pleurisy also comes to mind.

Good luck getting past the receptionist - insist that you are seen!

Hi last time I had bad burning pains in my lungs I had a neverending chest infection, had loads of meds, don't hang around is my advice, GP or walk-clinic or A&E

Thanks everyone. Will try to get an appointment. Hate going to doc- its not just getting the appointment- Gp is so rude if it's anything he considers to be 'cold' related

Urgh. Won't see me till Thursday. Guess I'll stock up on codeine and see how it goes.

Thanks for all the help x

Sorry your GP is so rude, change surgery, don't take it!! I did you know after a few years, my neighbour told me there was a better one round the corner and I was pleasantly surprised you could have a surgery with nice human beings.

Anyway hope it works for you tomorrow, be assertive, insistent and all that^^ :)) Take care xx
