from what I've reached its 50% chance they will work, my son been on them since June but still he coughs, when he took them about 11 years ago they worked not sure they do now. Lets hope they work for you 😊

Ive found them very helpful. Been on them about 3 years now. They seem to stop the irritations, eg pollen in summer months, that make asthma worse.

Montelukast works well for me. Definitely reduces allergic symptons a lot. Very rarely need antihistamines now . On them for about four years.

No side effects for me that I have noticed.

Hi. I've been on Montelukast for 7 months now and they do help with the allergy triggers for me, such as perfumes etc so I'm very pleased. But I found that it took me a few weeks of side effects before settled (strange dreams, wakefulness, sense of time while sleeping odd) - none now. Then a few months before full strength kicked in.....maybe because those few months included chest infections for me. Pharmacist told me many people give M up in first weeks due to early side effects, so I persevered and it paid off. I've a feeling that they've increased my irritability levels but I might just be a sad old git!! When I get nowty I think Montelukast and it helps me to calm down. Benefits outweigh though. Good luck 👍

I've been on them 3/4 months and haven't seen a considerable difference yet at all, (although there's been a lot of swapping of my preventers so that could be why) only thing I've noticed is an increase in headaches, not great lol. Good luck x

I tried them a few years ago & they didn't help. Tried them again from about March this year & it's been brilliant. I can now walk a lot faster for a lot longer. Hubby thinks he's got a new wife!

I've been on Montelukast again for about 3 weeks and they seem to be helping this time. I took them a year or two back but didn't feel they made a difference then.

They're good for some folk with allergy triggered asthma. I've been taking them for about 4 weeks and they're helping me cope with pollen. I do get very vivid dreams though! Worth a try I think to see if they help you.

I have actually been taking this for over 8 years here (I'm in the States) at first I took nasacort and other sprays as well as Claritin. Started taking this and honestly feel like my head is clear and very little allergens cause reaction I.e. trees, pollen etc. The only problem that I have with it, is if I miss 3 days or more dose wise, my head congestion phases back in and I get headachey and get rather disoriented. But... that's just me probably becoming more reactive. I currently take 10mg once a day. Been on that dosage the entire time and since then pretty much abandoned nasal sprays and Claritin all together! So long term been on it probably since 2006/7, no complications.
