Mannitol challange followed by a lung function test?

I've just received a invite to a lung function test and it's been booked for straight after an appointment for the mannitol test. Is this usual? Just wondering if one will affect the other and if I should call and rebook or will it be OK?

hi,

they will do a baseline lung dunction test before a mannitol challenge. it takes about 15 minutes for the mannitol to wear off and you would use some ventolin to recover you lungs if mannitol effects you. prior to lung function relievers should not be used for atleast 4 hours so reversability can be done I would call the clinic

Thanks emma but this is a completely separate lung function test appointment? Think I'll call and check to be on the safe side! Thanks
