I am sorry to hear about about your eyes and cataracts. There is hope to get them sorted. I sure you had enough of hospitals etc. Be reassured that this is such a standard operation. My brother in law is an eye surgeon. These are his stocking trade. I will keep praying for you. Chin up you have great friends here for you

Tracey1972 my mother had both her eyes 'done' last year and was amazed at the difference it made, especially at how bright colours became.  Some go on to have perfect vision, some may still have to wear glasses for reading but it can be life changing.

Having said that I was talking to someone yesterday who works in a hyperbaric oxygen centre hyperbaricoxygentherapy.org... and he said that they had had a lady come for treatment who had cataracts in both eyes (that wasn't why she was there).  During treatment her eyesight began to improve.  By the time she was finished not only were the cataracts gone but her eyesight had improved so much she no longer needed glasses.  I am not saying oxygen is a cure for cataracts but the anecdotal evidence is compelling.

Hyperbaric oxygen is also great for asthma.

Hi Tracey1972 The Hyperbaric oxgen is the same thing that my sister wants me to try. Its a 10 week course and it costs £350. My sister is doing this treatment now for something else possible fibromalogy. She is going to pay for me to have it done. The treatment is time intensive. She is into week 2/3 of it. So I let you know how she got on.

the treatment centre I was talking to has a £20 members fee then everything else is funded by donation (the suggested donation is £15 per session).  I was told that treatment initially requires back to back sessions for the first 15 days to build up oxygen levels in the tissues.

I hope you enjoy, and benefit from, your sister's generous treat

They did not say anything about glaucoma?  You can get steroid induced glaucoma. I have glaucoma caused by steroid nasal spray!

So sorry to hear about your eyes.

Hi my mother got her cataracts done at the age of 86.  Her vision improved a lot   She was worried about having it done,  but had no problems.   x

Oh dear it's the steroids, one of the side effects but Mum had the op and felt better for it they corrected her eyesight as well. Xx

I had cataracts in both eyes, operated on in my late 40s. Maybe steroid induced, I don't know, but there is a family history of cataracts anyway. Operations a great success and I could see so much better, it was like a new lease of life. xx
