Advice please...

Hi,

I am new to this site and i would like some advice please.... i have been brittle asthmatic since March 2014 and i have had phnumonia four times and i am on prednisolone as well as 4 inhalers and nebulisers... i am also type 2 diabetic on insulin......

i am at the moment recovering from a nasty chest infection resulting in 3 a&e visits in 5 days... can anyone advise anything to help recovery from severe attacks please?

I know it's frustrating when you suffer repeated serious attacks & sometimes it just seems like you can't get rid of them.

I don't suffer from brittle asthma but I know others on here do so they might have some tips & advice. The only thing I'd suggest would be to ask if they have done blood tests, CT scans, etc. to rule out any internal triggers or problems? If you are suffering constant infections then they could assess for other things (eg bronchiectasis).

I hope you find some solutions anyway.

Hi I'm brittle asthmatic and in hospital once a month with bad attack for about a week iam also type 2 diabetic insulin control when on steroids, what Nebs are u on I find saline ned help to shift the gunk of my chest and iprotomun and salbutamol help when my asthma flares and the other is just rest as much as u can don't rush ur self

Thank you.... I have had a pulmonary embolism before big it has been ruled out and I also have a dysfunctional larynx..... Very annoying I've had now 5 a&e visits in 6 days.... I'm now on ventolin and ipratropium nebs and I will try the saline too... Trying the sitting in front of a fan trick too....

How do you deal with your insulin with the steroids and other meds my bloods are all over the place xxx

I'm on humulin I once a day 8 unit and then novo rapid if suger go over 15 mmol and I give my self 4 unit every 4 hrs if needed and on gliclazide tablet 160mg morning and 80 at night and sitagliptin 100mg in the morning
