Prophylactic Antibiotics

Hi

I'm looking for some help and advice.

I had numerous exacerbations in the last 17 months

December 2013

March 2014

June 2014

August 2015

February 2015

April 2015

Since August I've been on

Seretide 250 2 puffs twice a day, prior to August 2014 I was on Seretide 125.

Montelukast 10mg daily

They all appear to be related to infection; I initially assumed it was frequently viral in origin but I've isolated Haemophilus Influenza in August 2014, February 2015 and am awaiting my most recent sputum results. Chest CT was negative, no sign on Bronchiectasis.

I've a good respiratory consultant but am getting really fed up with the frequency of exacerbations; not least because I've needed lots of time off at work and this is likely to become an issue for my employer. I've also missed out on quite a few social events which has annoyed me!!

Wondering if anyone has had any success with prophylactic antibiotics as I'm getting to the end of my tether and would quite like to give them a try.
