asthma getting worse as I get older.

Hi,

I am new to the forum, my name is Laura , I am 24 and over the past few years my asthma has got worse and worse, having attacks more often.

My immune system is terrible, I am forever getting bad coughs/colds which sets off my asthma.

I am a dance and gymnastic coach, I love my job but this causes me to struggle sometimes.

Is there anything I can try, any diets or anything else that can help prevent this?

Or anyone I can see?

Iv seen my doctor so many times and tried lots a different inhalers the highest strengths, tablets, steroids you name it. Nothing seems to help.

Does anyone have any thoughts or advice? Would be most grateful!

Laura

I'm afraid i don't have any advice to offer but just thought i'd say i'm the same as you. Mine hasn't got to unmanageable (yet?) and i'm 35.

Actually, one piece of advice i will give you is to ring the Asthma UK nurses, they're great and can go through loads of options with you so that you can then tell your doctor what the 'experts / specialists' suggest

I'm going to try and get mine fully controlled this year cos i'm hoping to do a half marathon next year. Sadly my foot is also injured at the moment so on wednesday at the running group i joined the beginners - 2.5 miles run / walk and the next day my chest was dreadful (for me). That really surprised me cos when i'm not inured i can run 6 miles without stopping - despite the chest protesting afterwards.

Anyway i'll stop rambling now, hope you start to feel better soon xxx
