Aerochamber whistles when I'm hardly breathing in at all.

It says to take a deep slow breath in when using the aerochamber. As I do this it whistles telling me that I'm breathing in too fast. So I lower my breath intake and I'm hardly breathing at all. I told my docter and he said its normal for it to do that, so I asked for a more up to date model. I explained that trudell ( company that make them) have a more up to date one on there website, trudell medical. The docter told me we only do the standard aerochamber plus not the aerochamber plus flow vu.

So I will never get my asthma under control thanks nhs.

Hi Venus. This happens to me a lot when I use my steroidal inhaler (qvar - beclomethasane ...} The mouth piece of the MDI itself is round and quite big in comparison to the ventolin MDI which has a narrower , squarer mouthpiece and therefore it doesn't fit the areochamber very easily . If I wiggle the inhaler around a little when fitting it into the opening it seems to help, the aim being to take the pressure off the vent on the rubber seal, if that makes sense. I kind of point the mouth piece down a little when it's fitted in. Hope this helps .Let us know if it solves cc the issue! Lisa x

It's not acceptable.

See no one can help me.

Hi,

I removed the whistle from mine - I got funny looks in the office when it went off! I think it's more important to be checked by a doctor (or in my case my Asthma Nurse at the hospital) for proper use of inhalers than trusting a piece of plastic to tell you whether you are breathing in at the correct rate.

James.
