'Just increase the when you need to'

Hi :)

I saw the nurse yesterday about an exacerbation that has lasted about 3 weeks now, on and off. She told me that I should increase my inhalers as soon as I have an issue but didn't explain much else. In the past I've always been led to believe that she wanted to see me and tell me to increase them before I actually did, which made sense since anything lasting more than a week is unusual for me. I'm just confused about how long I should wait now and how much I should increase it by- each time she's told me to increase it it's been by different amounts at different times! I didn't really think about it at the time (I was starving and very wet after the walk there!) but now I'm not sure.

Is this what an action plan is?

Thanks :)
