Its been a little while...

Hi everyone. Im sorry its been so long since Ive been on here. After coming out of hospital I felt I needed some time when I wasnt thinking/talking/dreaming asthma all the time.

Thankfully the subcut is working well and making a significant difference to my everyday life. Annoyingly its still a nightmare trying to sort out the right equipment etc (still have the huge pump and not ideal dressings etc) but I am managing. A lot of the time I actually forget about the thing which is great, its part of me now and the benefits more than make up for any inconvenience.

Unfortunately I have been really poorly the last couple of weekes, with a heavy cold that led to an extremely nasty chest infection, which Im still battling as I near the end of my 2nd course of antibx. Its beeb, and still is, very frustrating, and I admit I should probably have gone to A&E last weekend, but I just couldnt face the thought of another admission so soon. It was silly and I wouldnt recommend it, but thankfully I lived to tell the tale - and will NOT be doing that again, if I need to go I will, I promise!

The 6 week admission was really hard work and has taken me some time to process and work out, but all in all I think it was worth it. In a few weeks I have drug allergy testing to see if I might be able to take azithromycin, and just 2 days later Im seeing a resp physio for an assessment (though I simply refuse to go to group breathing exercise classes, regardless of what he says!!!). But more than anything, I feel that my consultant understands my asthma more - and even more important, understands me as a person more, and that is as valuable as the clinical data I think.

Anyway, just thought I'd pop in and get up to date with you all, now I'm heading back to my sick bed to try and shift the end of my plague!
