Cancellation policy/Holiday Insurance

Hi Has anyone had to cancel their holiday because of their asthma? Would like to go to America in September but am worried in case I am ill and unable to go and if a cancellation policy would cover this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

hey Carla

best to check with the airline or who you booked it with as there is loads of cancellation policy's and there all different hope this helps

also make sure you tell your insurer ( travel insurance) that you have asthma if you don't and you become ill this will make you policy void

take care hope this helps :)

With insurance it depends whether your asthma is included or your insurer has it as an 'exclusion'.

If it includes your asthma you should get a refund except for the relevant excess.

If your asthma is excluded, you would not be able to claim for cancelation under this reason.

Also, if your asthma is 'excluded' and you needed treatment whilst abroad, your insurer would not pay for this or any asthma related illness.

Hope this helps.
