Secondary adrenals gland suppression

I was increasing my steriod inhaler on/off when I shouldn't have. I now gone back to normal with my steriod inhaler. Feel werid, light headed sickness,

Have I got secondary Adrenalgland suppression if so will it go back to normal or do I need to go to docs.

If you're worried about something like that you should go to GP and maybe they'll take some bloods.

I wouldn't have thought that inhaled steroids would affect adrenal glands though. x

Inhaled steroids are very unlikely to cause adrenal suppression.... this usually happens if you are on long term high doses of oral (tablet) steroids such as prednisolone.

Your symptoms could just be coincidental.....

I would have thought as Kate said, that this is unlikely, though more common with oral high dose steroids. The only references I can find relate more to children unsurprisingly.

Clinical Evidence

With more than 60 case reports published in the literature, there is now strong clinical evidence supporting the presence of ICS-associated AS [22]. The majority of these cases have presented with signs of adrenal crisis, particularly altered consciousness (seizure, coma) secondary to hypoglycemia, and had evidence of HPA-axis suppression on testing. There are also case reports of AS without crisis, including poor weight gain, poor linear growth or other non-specific symptoms. Almost all cases have involved children being treated with ≥500 μg/day of fluticasone
