I don't post here that often but was wondering if anyone has been having similar symptoms and what were they told by a doctor about it?
I have severe asthma and when I have a flare up, I normally start coughing, wheezing, being short of breath, and obviously that mainly happens during nights, early morning. on exertion, etc.
Strangely, for the last 5 days I have been short of breath on every exertion (not massively but this occurs after walking a few steps) and some nights but nothing else, no coughing, no wheezing. I have never experienced anything similar - usually, when my asthma is getting worse there is a bunch of other symptoms and here's nothing... I am a bit worried because my peak flow has dropped to 230-250 (best 430) over these few days and it does not want to go up! I don't feel as if I was in emergency of going to A&E and I am seeing my doctor on Monday where I will obviously discuss it but if anyone has had a similar experience and would like to share it - it would be very helpful.
Just because you ""normally"" get all those symptoms when you flare up doesn't mean that you should talk to your doctor about this. Sometimes, asthma acts differently, even for the same person. Short of breath is not good. Your peak flow has dropped a lot too which is also not good.
Sometimes I cough a lot. Sometimes I feel like there's an anvil on my chest. Sometimes I wheeze/whistle when breathing. ALWAYS when I look back on it once I've actually taken notice, I'll note that I had subtler symptoms a bit earlier.
