just got back from my review today. poor old dr ford he really is stuck on ways to help me lol bless the poor guy. We looked at my meds and decided that i was actually better on serevent rather than oxis, id rather shake like crazy if theres a chance of getting better. still awaiting the consultant appointment which will take a while apparently.
my beclometasone has been taken up, i was usually on 2 puffs twice a day (4 in zone 2), but now hes decided that before going straight to long term pred (as he was pleased that i stablised after it), were going to try doing 4 puffs of beclometasone twice daily, although i am considering spacing it out as my lungs feel trashed after doing 4 in one sitting. if this doesnt work then it looks like long term pred... yuck!
has anyone else tried this rout and has it worked?
Hope that the Serevent will work for you. I also got bad shakes when on it, but it' sobviously worth it. Hope you're doing well and you manage to avoid pred long term!

Stick with it the shakes do wear-off eventually!
Long-term Pred should always be the LAST option for anyone and there are many meds ya can try before that so perservere hun!
Do anything to avoid long term pred. The side effects are dreadful. Obviously if it is choice between being able to breathe and the collective side effects of pred then breathing wins. Most of us on here who are long term pred are also on a long term battle to get off it.
I don't know who Dr Ford is but before starting long term pred you could try asking for a refal to one of the specialst centres around or the RBH for a 2nd opinion.
