Hi

Congratulations!! me and hubby never stop trying for a baby. i have this worry as well because if i do become pregnant then what about steroid inhalers etc. i have always been told by the doctor that because its an inhaler rather than tablets only an minute bit gets into your bloodstream and that won't harm the foetus. i would seriously check with your doctor or midwife. i don't know much and i would hate to scare you!!!!! i know it depends which inhaler and tablets you are on possibly. Also i was told its much better to take your preventers than to have an attack, as this depleates you from oxygen and also the baby, but again i would check on this.

Have a very happy and peaceful pregnancy and let us know when your baby is born how heavy etc and finally good luck!

Congratulations!

Asthma is supposed (ha!) to follow a ""rule of thirds"" in pregnancy - about 1/3 find their asthma gets better; 1/3 find it stays much the same; and 1/3 find that it gets worse. Put another way, you've got a 2/3 chance that it'll get better or stay the same!

Asthma inhalers are very safe in pregnancy. Most tablets are also safe. You're best off discussing with your own doctor or midwife regarding the safety of the medications you're on.

With my son, my asthma got alot worse. But with both my daughters, it eased off for the entire pregnancy! Not sure if there's anything in that! ;-)

Congratulations. As others have said, asthma meds aren't as bad as a severe attack.
