Blue Badges

Blue badges were mentioned in another thread but thought I should start a fresh.

I am currently thinking about applying for a blue badge, not for my asthma but chronic pain.

It says on the form about contacting your doctor. What exactly is the doctor's role? What happens if you say no to them contacting the doctor? Would it be refused?

I dunno if you guys will know the answers, but i thought it was worth a shot!

Hi Moose,

I get my Blue Badge because I get high rate Disability Living Allowance - it is automatic and no dr is contacted.

However, to get a Blue Badge without DLA the issuing authorities need proof from a GP etc that you are less able bodied!

If you refused you may be rejected because there is so much abuse of the Blue Badge parking eg people get them when they don't need them!

I would speak to your GP anyway about your application before you send the form off. There are certain criteria you will need to meet.

Sorry, can't help any more!

Kate
