been to the drs again today and the dr i say was the best. She says im some where between moderate persistant asthma and brittle and said time would tell on which one it is. She has said i am bad enough of a nasal spray. Not got oral steriods but the nasal spray is a steriod one. I walked out thinking wow i have been listened to

I am so pleased that you found a very understanding doctor, it might be worth to trying to keep seeing them when you have to, lets hope the new medication starts to improve things for you

being listened to always makes a big difference and doctors and nurses who do this are worth their weight in gold.

yeah she was a good dr she said if i carry on like i am i could end up seeing a consultant

Im pleased you saw a good doctor. It helps you feel a little better just being listened to! Hope you feel better.

yeah talking to her and having her just listen was nice but still not 100%

great doctor too :)

i went to my new GP a couple of days ago for the first time (just moved house) and she was AMAZING!!!!

i have been struggling for a while and all the other GP's at my previous practice always go on my PF and predicted PF for my age (which is 450 but my best is 520 so 450 is not good for me!).

she took my PF, listened to my symptoms and what i felt like and although my PF was 440 and I had no wheeze (the worse i am feeling the less i wheeze lol) she actually did something about it all!

she gave me a nasal spray for blocked nose and allergy tablets, antibiotics incase infection was causing flare up, and she even gave me my first course of Pred!! which so far all other doctors have not agreed to cause of my no wheeze and high PF.

she was sooo kind, listened to everything i had to say and EVEN asked me what i thought about her treatment plans and whether i agreed with it all. i left the surgery elated and have taken all the meds and feel better already! :)

its nice to know we have some nice docs out there folks ini :)

woo hoo!

x

yeah it is nice but what makes me laugh with my good dr is she parents are both drs at my gps and she is the opposite to them she is really nice and i dont see them unless i have no choice

There is one doctor at our surgery who everyone wants to see because you're guaranteed to feel better even if your medical condition remains the same. He is cheerful, unfailingly kind and happy to take as long as you need. It means that you often wait a long time to see him but nobody minds because he's so lovely. Even when he's just walking through the surgery he cheers you up because he's always singing and smiling. What a star!

My surgery has two lovely ones (think this is quite lucky though I did once wait perhaps longer than I should because annoyingly both were off at the same time). They also have one ineffectual one, one who makes me feel like a malingerer (and unfortunately was my 'official' one - luckily I found out fairly soon that I didn't have to see her), used to have one really awful one who has now left fortunately, and one who seems ok but told me when I was still studying (the surgery is an official uni one) that my subject was bad for my health.

Wish we could have yours as well though Annista! Just a pity there's only one of him. Amanda, glad you have a good one but if I were her I would not want to work in the same practice as my parents! Must be a bit weird for her I would think but she does sound lovely - maybe a case of rebellion against parents working in your favour?
