Peak flow meters

Hello everyone,

Just a quick question, I was talking to a colleague at work the other day about how rubbish my asthma has been recently. She asked me how often I check my peak flow readings. I explained that I didn't have a peak flow meter at home. She seemed surprised and said most asthmatics do.

I just wondered how I get one? Do I need to buy one from my pharmacy or will my doctor give one to me on prescription?

If you already have a pre-pay prescription certificate ask your GP to prescribe you one. If you normally pay for prescriptions it is better to check how much the Peak flow meters are, as I expect they are probably a similiar price to a single item on prescription. So probably best to check the prices first.
