gunk!

HI,Im getting chest infection after chest infection and mucus that wont cough up and

constantly swallowing thick rubish down my throat and seems like in taking pred and

antibiotics every month.

Im on salbutamol easyhaler and sertide and slophyllin and singulair montelucast.

I was told asthmatics are prone to chest infections but is this normal to have so many ?

i've never had a chest infection, or so i thought until i read your post. Whats it like to have a chest infection? Whenever i get a cold i get thick dark green gunk coming up, i just thought it was normal!

My breathing dips alot and my lungs get full of gunk but wont cough up

and chest goes realy tight and weeze alot.

I never see any gunk as it wont cough up x

i get a few chest infections every year, winter being terrible for me. i take carbosistenien (erm not sure if thats spelt right). this makes the phlegm much easier to bring up as its thinner. maybe you could ask your doc about that?

Been docs and yes another infection as wheezy and nellie on my chest

and thick mucus clogging up my airways.80(

Glynis, I used to get lots of chest infections, always triggered by a cold. I've been through periods of one after another, even the GP couldnt believe it. Same with my son. He had a long year of chest infections. It's like the chest is weakened and just succumbs to the next infection that comes along.

But I do find with mine that I can cough up the green (yuk!) gunk and I always try to spit it out. My chest feels a bit better when I cough something up, and then tightens up again. It's strange but my son NEVER coughs anything up - he says it trickles back.

just getting me down now as its one after another with not many days in between to

pick up abit and feel stronger,

Asthma nurse adding meds along with pred and amoxillin,

shes seeing me every 2 weeks and sooner if needed,

shes just added singulair and on about adding spervia next xxxxxx
