I went to see my asthma nurse this morning, i dont know why i was no nervous. I forgot how nice she is and how helpful compared to the doctors who wont do anything about my asthma, but she listens and understand, only the second time i have seen this asthma nurse.
I am still struggling with my asthma and she said peak flow is still low for me, but because i am moving to a flat on the 23rd may, which the flat is so much better and has no trigger like my current shared house which has people smoking, no ventilation,mould and damp everywhere, and new place has none of these, so she said to stay on current meds for now, and that once i move it is very likely that my asthma will improve and will step down on most of medications, i might have to stay on montelukast, but i am hoping i will be able to stop with two of my relievers and that my peak flow will go up, as it is only 250. I know that i wont see any difference straight away after living so long in this conditions, but it will be nice to have at least on my conditions controlled. so will be seeing her next after have been in the flat for 2 weeks and see what she says.
I have found that the moment my chest is tight, but then my bladder is also playing up because of the stress of all my appointments ahead and moving.
cant believe am moving into own flat, i really helps it improves my stress levels and my conditions. as i know moving it will make me more relaxed, and i will be able to get back into a routine and feel more settled

When you do manage to step down be careful what order you do.... looking at profile i reccon first one should be atrovent as not on the usual step wise before montleausat... then long acting reliver and if you get there steriod inhaler... but imprtant to continue to mointour peak flows and take time just as your having a bad day dosnt mean need to step back up sometimes take a while for your body to get used to changes.
Im currently waiting for my new flat ground floor or with a lift (but all on one level!) cant wait sometimes stuck in spare bedroom as then dont have to walk far and i know makes a difference.
Just thought when you move are you in the same area for Dr's come surgerys are mean on taking people out of area!

I hope you are really happy in your new place! Just hang on in there - stress messes my asthma up but once Ive de-stressed, it settles down. Glad you got a great asthma nurse too. My one is much better than my last one and its never daunting when I go!
thanks everyone, yes bizkid I will be in the same area, as just moving 5 mins down the road. I will first step down atrovent, I dont think my asthma will ever be as good as before due to so long in these conditions. but will be happy if i am just on preventer, ventolin and montelukast. I am hoping to get rid of the other 2 relievers and decrease how much of ventolin i use. I know i will be really happy in the new flat where there will be more privacy and stress, and will feel better once into a routine. I will try to not get too stressed next week but go so much to do.

Good Good..... Asthma is a variable condition so yeah in the long run in a few years it could be better you never know!

well we have now moved in, but only into a temp flat, while our flat is being treated for cockroaches, been so stressful and everything gone wrong, first they didnt bother telling us about the problem untill we got there, then electric went in the temp flat so had to spend the night in the dark, and we cant even really get our post. hopeing nothing else goes wrong, but at least everything is sorted now. apart from the fact that we dont know how long we will be in the temp flat, and if things could not get worse i have to get rid of my hamster
