At last there's something being trialed in England first.

Cos Scotland got the Poll Tax a whole year earlier than England. Sundry other things too.

I see also Wales may be the first to introduce organ donor opt-out

Forgive me if I'm being daft, but how is this different from NHS direct which also directs you either to other local health care services or to the emergency services as required? It's an easier number to remember, and I could see the point of changing the NHS direct number to 111, but another new service that seems to serve the same purpose unless I'm missing something?

I think if the new 111 works well that it will be used to replace the NHS Direct, who can remember that number?
