Currently on Day 6 of a chest cold and taking inhalers to reduce asthma symptoms. I have had a really bad productive cough for days and now have constant heartburn. Can the constant bad coughing be causing heartburn do you think? Or would it maybe be the increased Ventolin? Thanks for help & advice.

Hello, sorry your having a rough time at the moment. There is a school of thought that links acid/heartburn with asthma - some people think that acid exacerbates asthma. It might be worth trying Gaviscon and/or going to your GP, there is a group of meds called PPI's that suppress acid - Lansoprazole, Omeprazole etc that might help. Good luck, hope you feel better soon, Lois
