ı have one more questıon to all my frıends havıng almost same problems owıng to havıng asthma. I have asthma for the last 10 years (not ıncludıng sea lıfe that made me healty for 2 year that ı worked) as ı told before. In the 10 year, thıs asthma has lots of effects ın my routıne lıfe,
1) Beıng shy
2) Loss of attentıon
3) Slowıng down ın movements that makes the people thınk ı am lazy
4) Gettıng older
5) Thınkıng negatıve
6) Loughıng ıs ımpossıble for me although ı lıke to do but starts asthma attacks
Addıtıonally, As ı have been stıll gıvıng all my attentıon on my studıes for the last 5 years, ıt ıs bıg dısaadvantage for the asthma sufferers to study properly due to lack of oqygen level ın blood makıng my mınd to slow down as my doctor told me.
I am sorry to hear that your asthma has affected your life in so many ways. I am sure a lot of board users can relate to the sort of problems you have experienced.
One thing I did want to pick up on - it is not true to say that asthma sufferers are at a disadvantage in studying properly because of low oxygen levels in the blood making the mind slow down. The vast majority of asthma sufferers will only have low oxygen levels in their blood during a very severe attack; in between attacks their oxygen levels will be normal. To have oxygen levels low enough to cause slowing of thinking would imply a very serious attack indeed. There is no evidence at all that asthma sufferers are less able to study due to their condition, and I would not want anyone to think that that was the case.
If anyone does experience clouding of their thought processes during an asthma attack, that is potentially a very serious sign, and urgent medical attention should be sought by dialling 999.
Take care all,
Em H
Wot Em said, as I replied to your most recent previous post.
I don't think I would have got where I am today if asthma had been slowing my thinking or preventing my studying.
Like I said before, If all else fails, go live at sea again!
I have heard it works....
Number 5 is the one you need to work on my friend. Think positive and that will help perk yourself up. If you are away from the sea, take yourself to the coast just for a day to refresh your batteries and feel good. It works for me, say once a month at least. I am like you in a minority that find sea air helps.....
I have met many people with asthma over the years and I can honestly say that the vast majority are somehow quite sharp witted, and have strong character!
...perhaps if less brains are used now you will have more left to use later on when you are older!!!!
(joke!!)
...Laughing has also often made me weezy too but I wouldn't have it any other way.
