Bonfires

We are a family of asthmatics suffering as all our neighbours seem to love burning their garden waste. There are between 1-3 bonfires a day here and I am meeting with my MP about it next week.

If as an asthma sufferer you are plagued by bonfire smoke affecting your quality of life, please sign the inline petition on e-petitions to restrict bonfires in residential areas.

Garden waste can be recycled there is no need for it to be burnt.

Why do you need to sign a petition to stop bonfires? When you can go to your local environmental health officer? If the problem is regular occurance they can serve a notice under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 section 79 for statutory nuisance...
