Hi I don't think dentists use NOx these days! (Pure NOx is a general anaesthetic)

for a filling you are usually given a Local anaesthetic which Numbs the area to be filled.

Tell your dentist that you are asthmatic and they will choose the best local anaesthetic to give you.

The only area in medicine where NOx is used as far as I know is in combination with Oxygen 50/50 which produced the pain killing drug Entonox - or Gas & Air as Mothers will know it as!

General anaesthetics are or should be given in a hospital environment these days - Dentists avoid generals if possible - most things - even wisdom teeth can be hoiked out with a local.

Please don't worry - I always scare my dentist and not the other way round!

Take care

Kate
