Alpha 1 antitryspin deficiency?

Does anyone have this.

My mother was tested and it came back as low so she has it so I now need to be tested.

glad u found the link helpful, should know the result on tuesday eeek! i was test for it becuase all of my grandads brothers and sisters have COPD and he died of it. but even if i have the deficiency my consutant does not think that my type 2 brittle asthma is link to it. i'll post u when i get the result

I was tested for this last year as there is a family history of different lung problems but no-one had been tested for it or diagnosed with it. I was told I didn't have it as the results came back just outside the range.

There is a lot of information available about it now as well as a UK site similar to this one with a forum
