My asthma's been getting troublesome this week, really uncomfortable, but my peak flow is between 400-450, which is really good. I'm confused - can I have a good peak flow but still be having an attack my reliever doesn't help? And if so, what do I do?

Peak Flow good but still feel bad
I don't find my peak flow is always a very good indication of how I am. I have had a good peak flow in the morning before and then woken up in re-sus by the evening. If you're struggling I would go to the doctors, it might be that you've picked up an infection low down in your lungs which may not get picked up with your peak-flow readings and having someone listen to your chest just to check is always quite reassuring.

hi- ive had this loads (except my inhaler does help) and i still have no idea what to do about it-is it an asthma attack? is it the back end of an asthma attack? is it just one of those things? i have got no idea and when ive asked about it ive never managed to get a straight answer so sorry but im not help here, will be good to find out though x
Hi Guys,
my p/flows stay on the low side, when they go up i usually start having asthma attacks. If your getting good p/flows but you feel bad its a sign something is wrong, i agree with the others i would go and see your gp/nurse and get checked out. It will give you peace of mind at least and its better to be on the safe side.
Take care.
