hi does anyone have one of thesse ie hydrocortisone iv mag iv amino iv so that treatment is delivered right away and it is signed by your con and you carry it with you rachel c

Yes, I have a management plan of which I have a few copies, detailing my regular treatment, what to use at home when deteriorating ( eg more nebs, s/c, O2 then epipens!) then what they should give me in hospital . I have IV Magnesium then either IV Salbutamol or IV aminophyline plus some other odds & ends to help them. I also have phone numbers for contact too plus my usual (naff) peak flows etc and that I don't wheeze! Also Allergies too!

Mine is written in agreement with my cons but I produce it myself on my computer so I can keep it up to date. It isn't on headed note paper which has only once caused a problem from an arrogant doctor. You could get a covering letter to keep with a protocol that you put together yourself?

hi kate thanks for replying cons thought it would be a good idea as keep crashing four two six weeks amino levels just plumet and i am getting difficult to canulate so if i have a plan and it is agreed by my con then each indidual doc will know what to do and i will not be stabbed so many times by sho or reg etc they will all know i need fem line or c v line as soon as i am stable enough i am seeing my con next mon will mention p f and eppipen etc thanks rachel c

Hey Rach, hiya from the RBH when I get home we will have coffee somewhere other than a ward! The good news is that Torbay seem to be very good at following plans and doing the right thing at least last time I had no problem. Getting a new plan from here before I go home apparently the need to wack a C Line or long line on admission will be on it I have to say I might have been a wee bit guilty of sort of discouraging that before now, every time I see you, you are sprouting things from your neck every time I have seen you, have tried asking for a long line instead (please tell me they do longlines).
