Blue hands

I have already seen a doctor and been treated for this but when I woke up this morning my hands had a blue tint to them and my chest was hurting, the doc I saw at the hospital (nhs direct told me to go to a&e) said the blue hands was due to a chest infection and it was my bodies way of telling me it needs to be treated, the doctor gave me doxycycline to take for a week.

Just wondering if anyone else has had this before?

lejaya, blue tinge to the hads does indicate a lack of oxygen, also look at the lips. I used to get blue hands when I was learning to swim, before I had asthma, but I always thought it was because the pool was cold and I was standing around but it could have been a warning sign as I was diaganosed with asthma later that year,
